National Society of Black Engineers

NSBE @ UCI logo

The National Society of Black Engineers at UC Irvine is a professional organization dedicated to supporting the academic, professional, and personal development of Black students in engineering and other STEM disciplines. Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. We achieve this through networking events, career workshops, conferences, mentorship, and community service. NSBE helps members build valuable technical and professional skills while connecting with industry professionals and peers. Our organization fosters a supportive community that encourages students to succeed academically, develop as leaders, and pursue meaningful careers in STEM.

Current Work / Recent Updates

Our organization’s goals for the upcoming academic year are to increase member involvement in our committees and mentorship program, connect our members with more industry leaders, foster more company partnerships, expand full-time, internship, and research opportunities, and foster a supportive community that develops and empowers future NSBE leaders for years to come.

Currently, we are gearing up for our first general body meeting, where we'll discuss new partnerships, upcoming events & opportunities, and provide more information about our upcoming conference.
