Formula SAE Electric - Brakes

Background

Anteater Electric Racing is dedicated to advancing electric vehicle technology through innovative design and engineering. The team focuses on optimizing vehicle performance while maintaining safety and efficiency. One of the critical aspects of high-performance electric racing is an effective braking system that integrates both mechanical and regenerative braking for maximum energy efficiency.

Goals and Objectives

The goal of this project is to develop a reliable and well-organized braking system for the KiloZott electric race car. This system must be optimized for performance, safety, and adaptability. Key objectives include:

  • Integration of regenerative braking to improve energy efficiency and enhance vehicle range.
  • Implementation of configurable pedals to accommodate different driver preferences.
  • Utilization of existing components where possible to streamline development and reduce costs.
  • Comprehensive CAD modeling to refine the design before prototyping and assembly.
  • Testing and validation to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
