FUSION Engineering Project: Team Peter's Anteaters
Background
Autonomous technology has been a booming industry over the past decades, providing society with countless luxuries from self-driving cars all the way to self-operating robots that simplify mundane everyday tasks. From trailblazers in the realm of self-driving cars such as Tesla and Nvidia providing advanced technology allowing for nearly fully autonomous operation of their vehicles to the plethora of autonomous cleaning robots that aid in completing basic chores in the background. It is through this we plan to discover the world of autonomous robots hands-on as we plan to create an autonomous robot vacuum.
Goal and Objectives
The overall goal of our project is to create an autonmous cleaning robot capable of obstacle avoidance while simultaneously being able to pick up dust and debris from the course field. In order to acheive this we are combining multiple disciplines of engineering to create a chassis for our rover and drafting a circuit capable of controlling the roomba through implementing dual motor control and obstacle detection.
