| Cognitive function needs to be assessed early and often to maximize intervention opportunities for patients with cognitive impairment and specifically patients at risk for or diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Currently available diagnostic tools consist of paper and pencil tests and expensive imaging techniques that require a referral. Physicians need an easy to use, objective tool that measures brain function in their clinic and patients need an intuitive, unobtrusive monitoring device for their home. |
The objective of this project is to evaluate the feasibility of a wearable EEG device in a clinic and/or home setting to collect, monitor and analyze electrophysiology biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease. Specifically, the device should be: |
Easy to use, intuitive, unobtrusive and modern wearable device Capability to measure EEG in specific areas of the brain and design a prototype to define |
optimal placement |
| Define the regulatory roadmap, including clinical trial requirements for |
commercialization |
