Pocket Media Studio

The purpose of this project is to make an efficient projected musical interface. This will allow the user to interact with multiple instruments such as a piano or drum-pad. All of this will be observed through machine vision technology in order to detect human interaction with the specific key being pressed or interacted with.

Our goal for this project is to produce a working prototype that allows the user to create music on any flat surface and integrate this into existing music production software to enable these songs and beats to be saved and edited further. This project is made to make this sort of technology more accessible to people who want to pursue music in a different, yet efficient manner. Our initial objective is to integrate machine vision with a projected display to replicate the essence of a piano.
