Groundwater Well Design and PFOS Treatment Facility

Groundwater aquifers are a major resource for drinking water and are more cost effective when compared to imported water. A recent contaminant that has become detected in groundwater aquifers are perfluorooctanesulfonic acids (PFOS), which are known to accumulate and persist in the environment and cause adverse effects on human health when ingested. The scope of this project is to fully design, equip, and operate a groundwater well in the City of Montebello and design a treatment facility PFOS before distributing any pumped water into the water distribution system.
