Solar Car
Goal and Objectives
This year (2020-2021), the team is dedicated in manufacturing a car solely powered by battery in order to compete in the American Solar Challenge (ASC), a race in which teams are expected to create a solar-powered car that can travel along predetermined routes such as Route 66 and the cross-country passage from Texas to Canada. Through this process, Solar Car not only strives to produce an efficient machine for a succesful run at the ASC, but also hopes to expand the innovation and utilization of renewable energy sources.
Although there have been multiple setbacks due to the new COVID regulations, our team has been utilizing the extra time at home in order to improve potential designs and components of our car. Currently, the opening of the labs enabled our members to continue the progress in physically updating and boosting the development of our present racecar design.
