Modular and Mobile Rocket Rack

Goals and Objectives

The Mobile Rocket Rack project aims to have a completed model with manufacturing plans by the end of the Fall 2020 quarter. With the manufacturing plan to take place during the Winter quarter with the UCI Rocket Project team members will manufacture and build the rack. Also, have a guideline book for how to operate the rocket rack while in the lab and preparation steps for how to load/unload the rocket onto the rocket rack plus

Time line Schedule

Week 5: Agree on a final design for the rocket rack. This includes the locking mechanism, truss design plus rotation system.

Week 6: Make any final adjustments to the rocket rack design and go over every aspect of the design to see if any possible improvements in design can be made.

Week 7: Begin to create solidworks models for the truss and base of the rocket rack

Week 8: Create solidworks models for the locking mechanism plus an animation for the rotation of the rocket in how it will perform.

Week 9: Finalize all solidworks models and begin the drawing process for all parts. Also run structure analysis using Ansys for component integrity plus component failure.

Week 10: Generate report of all of our documentation and analysis. Also create manufacturing guidelines and procedures.

Final’s week: Go back and review all documentation and prepare for the final presentation of our project.
