Checking for homework and assignment deadlines is an integral part of students' everyday life. However, navigating through the many UCI websites can be difficult and time-consuming. PETR, our personalized school assistant device, aims to solve this issue by simplifying the process via simple voice commands that can navigate the websites for you.

PETR utilizes a Raspberry Pi 3 running Python in order to extract and save data from the various UCI websites. A sound board with a microphone and speaker allows the device to record and playback sound files, which are sent to and obtained through Google Cloud's Speech-To-Text and Text-To-Speech API. Based on the command, PETR would obtain the information from the UCI websites or the information stored in SQL databases before creating the response.
