Robotics Outreach Project (ROP)

Robotics Outreach Project (ROP)

Background:

Starting in January 2020, ROP was developed under Dr. Ramos Munoz and Dr. Jabbari to develop a cost-effective robotics kit that will provide various design options for historically underrepresented students in STEM.
We aim for outreach programs to implement our kit with ease and shine a light to the many applications of robotics in STEM to the next generation.

Goal(s):

2020 Winter - Chassis designed/assembled & Education-engineering based curriculum
2020 Spring - Arduino bluetooth control & chassis simulation
2020 Fall - Arm linkages designed/assembled, claw prototype, camera-holder prototype, and Arduino PCB prototype
2021 Winter - Arm linkages calibration, Raspberry Pi bluetooth control, Raspberry Pi PCB prototype, camera-holder/claw hybrid prototype
2021 Spring - Claw assembled/calibrated, global code w/ interface, and cost reductions via bulk purchasing
